. Cal. 44. Oct. bbl. measures 5 3/4" from cylinder. Nearly all Kerr revolvers saw Confederate service. This is an exceptionally early example having one of the lowest serial numbers known. It has a 5 shot cyl. & is marked on the right side below the cyl., “KERR’S PATENT 1435.”. It is further marked on the right grip strap, “LONDON ARMOURY”. The left side marked, “LONDON ARMOURY” in an oval below the cyl. There are British proofs marks between each nipple on the cyl. The letters “L.A.C”, a proof mark & a crowned “V” are stamped on the left flat of the oct. bbl. The revolver has a 1 piece checkered grip w/ a lanyard ring at the base. CONDITION: revolver retains a substantial amount of original bluing mixed w/ light case colors on the loading arm, hammer & lock. Grips retain strong checkering but little finish. Single action mechanism functions well. Bore is good but a bit dirty. (01-19088 /BF). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
