SEMI AUTO PISTOL MODIFIED BY LAFRANCE SPECIALTIES FOR BLANK FIRING ONLY. Cal. 5.56 S# SAP100049. Bbl. 10". A scarcely found example of an entire industry that ceased normal operations, following wide, sweeping over-regulation in 1996 in Australia. Originally manufactured starting in 1978, as the Leader Dynamics rifle, the patent was acquired by Australian Automatic Arms in 1993, bringing 4 new configurations to the market w/ improvements to earlier design issues. Steel construction w/ black polymer furniture. The operating system is a short stroke gas piston, utilizing a tri-lug bolt w/ dual return springs & operating rods, similar in design to some modern bullpup systems. Threaded muzzle, terminated w/ A1 style flash hider, above & forward of bayonet lug. Right side front sling swivel. Protected blade front sight w/ 3 position, windage adjustable, diopter-style rear sight. Left side, non reciprocating charging handle. Left side safety selector. Top of receiver has a 6" rail section similar to a weaver rail, without the horizontal slots. Rear sling swivel on receiver, above pistol grip. This pistol includes the 1-page operating instructions from LaFrance Specialties, dated 09/08/87, declaring it has been heavily modified to fire ONLY "white-tip studio blanks" and "It can not fire with live ammo under any circumstance". Imported by Kendall International Arms, of Paris, KY.. MAGS: 1 aluminum 30 rd. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Operating instructions from LaFrance Specialties, Factory yellow AAA Operating Manual, Black nylon transport bag. CONDITION: Finish is complete & consistent w/ some thinning on high spots & right rear portion of receiver, below rear sight.. Bright bore w/ strong rifling.
