M/910 LUGER SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 9x19mm. S# 2519v. Bbl. 4". 1 of only 156 M/910 Luger semi-automatic pistols mfg. by Mauser under contract for the Portuguese Navy. Of the 156, 127 of these pistols were mfg. with grip safeties as in accordance with the DWM produced M/910 pistols, with the grip safety examples falling within the 2284v-2289v, 2501v-2571v, and 4301v-4351v S# ranges. This example is marked with a double crowned "U" proof, followed by the S# on the left side of the frame. Frame safety is properly marked "SEGURANCA", with "CARREGADA" marked on the left side of the extractor. Toggle is marked with Mauser's 9-stave banner logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, with some small parts exhibiting a straw finish. Frame is mounted with 2-piece replacement checkered wood grips. Standard serrated blade front sight and fixed notch rear sight. Frame is fitted with a grip safety. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, takedown lever, sideplate, trigger, grip safety, bbl., bbl. extension, breechblock, and toggles. MAGS: 1 8-rd. with wood plug marked "GERMANY". CONDITION: metal components retain fair to good amounts of their original blue finish, exhibiting areas of heavy wear showing through to a dark gray patina, with scattered spots/areas of light to mild pitting present overall, as is standard for firearms issued in humid environments. Frame exhibits areas of moderate pitting beneath the grip straps. Trigger and takedown lever retain fair to good amounts of their straw finish, showing wear, as well as scattered spots of light pitting and age related discoloration. Safety lever exhibits a dark gray patina. Bore is bright, exhibiting large patches of light to mild pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Grips are very good, showing some light wear and some scattered superficial handling marks, with the right panel exhibiting a replaced section of wood at the top right corner. A scarce and seldom encountered example of a Mauser Portuguese Navy contract M/910 Luger pistol, delivered between 1935-1941. (25-3487/MLW). CURIO. $1,500-2,250.
