PISTOL. Cal. 9mm Luger. S# 73C69896. bbl. 4 5/8". High Power semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Fabrique Nationale in 1973 to solicit military and police contracts. The left side of the slide is marked "FABRIQUE NATIONALE HERSTAL BELGIQUE/ BROWNING'S PATENT DEPOSE". Underside of trigger guard exhibit a Century Arms' import mark. Right side of forward trigger guard web and 2-piece bbl. exhibit a Belgian commercial proof. Metal components exhibit a black enamel type finish (over a phosphate finish) overall, save for on the bbl., which is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered black synthetic grips, and features a lanyard ring on the left side. Slide features an external extractor, with a fixed half-moon blade front sight, and dovetailed square notch rear sight. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame (front grip strap), slide, and bbl. MAGS: 1 phosphate 13-rd. mag., with poorly fit blued button type floorplate. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: black leather Browning soft case. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their black enamel type finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning (primarily on edges), with scattered superficial handling marks and spots of flaking present overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting some areas of light pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grips show superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (25-388/MLW). CURIO. $1,200-1,500.
