MODEL 12 TRAP PUMP SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 ga. 2 3/4". S# 300818. Spectacular shotgun w/ full coverage American Indian themed engraving w/ gold inlaid figures. Right side of frame has engraved inscription "FROM WHERE THE SUN NOW STANDS / I WILL FIGHT NO MORE FOREVER / CHIEF JOSEPH - NEZ PIERCE". Gold bordered vignette features a gold inlaid horseback mounted Chief Joseph w/ his arms raised to the Sun. Left side scene features a mounted Indian w/ drawn bow & 3 gold inlaid Buffalo. Scenes are surrounded by arabesque scroll w/ punch dot backgrounds & ornate gold borders that extends to upper & lower action areas. Trigger guard bow has gold inlaid tomahawk & sash. Engraving w/ gold highlights extends to the breech end of bbls. & bbl. extension. Bottom of receiver is marked w/ engraver's signature "W. Kolouch" over the word "TRAP". Walter Kolouch, McMinnville, Oregon is widely respected as a master engraver. Bbl. 30" w/ factory milled vent rib & fixed full choke. White front & mid beads. Jeweled bolt & carrier. Trigger guard screw has an added set screw. Beavertail forearm & red "W" capped pistol grip stock of fancy walnut is early 1960s vintage w/ factory "B" carving. LOP: 14 1/4" over red ventilated Winchester pad. Mfg. 1922. CONDITION: over 95% reblued finish showing slide wear. Wood has good satin refinish. Bright bore shows some plastic fouling. Sound action.
