SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 6.35mm. S# 706242. Bbl. 2 1/8". M200 semi-automatic pistol mfg. in Spain by Astra in 1953. Left side of the frame is marked "Unceta y Compania S.A.", followed by Spanish proofs and "MADE IN SPAIN," with the S#, "ASTRA," and the cal. designation marked on the fight. Frame and slide feature foliate pattern engraving on a matte background. Metal components exhibit a chrome-plated finish overall. Bbl. is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece Astra checkered plastic grips. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, slide, and bbl. MAGS: one chrome-plated 6-rd. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory chrome-plated finish, exhibiting some flaking on the trigger bow, as well as some superficial handling marks overall. Grip safety exhibits scattered spots of brown discoloration, likely from formerly cleaned oxidation. Mirror bore, retaining well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show age-related discoloration, with the left grip exhibiting a chip at the bottom left corner of the panel. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Bill Peterken. (24-6077/MLW). CURIO. $300-400.
