TAKEDOWN RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 7T51967. Bbl. 19 3/8". SA-22 semi-automatic takedown rifle mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale and imported by Browning Arms Company in 1967. Top of the bbl. is marked with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN BELGIUM", with the cal. designation marked on the left, and "BROWNING'S PATENT" marked on the right. Underside of bolt exhibits a triad of Belgian commercial proofs, with additional proofing marked on the left side of the bbl. (partially obscured by wood line). Sides of the receiver feature standard Grade I pattern engraving consisting of wavy line borders and foliate motifs at the center of the panels, with a small foliate motif engraved on the underside of the trigger guard bow. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Standard dovetailed and brass beaded blade front sight and dovetailed flip-up U-notch rear sight. Top of receiver is grooved for scope mount attachment. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting few light superficial handling marks overall. Bolt exhibits some small scattered spots of age related discoloration. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows some superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, as well as some sub-surface level cracking to the varnish finish (most notably on buttstock), but otherwise remains sound and presents nicely. (25-6787/MLW). CURIO. $600-900.
