TAKEDOWN RIFLE. Cal. 22 LR. S# 70T35702. Bbl. 19 3/8". SA-22 semi-automatic rifle mfg. in Belgium by Fabrique Nationale and imported by Browning Arms Company in 1970. Top of the bbl. is marked with Browning's importer information above "MADE IN BELGIUM", with the cal. designation marked on the left, and "BROWNING PATENTS" marked on the right. Underside of bolt exhibits a sole Belgian commercial nitro proof, which is repeated on the left side of the bbl. Receiver features standard Grade I pattern engraving, consisting of wavy line borders and foliate motifs on either panel, with the underside of the trigger guard bow exhibiting a small engraved foliate motif. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall, save for on the bolt, which is polished in-the-white. Glossy finished checkered wood forearm and pistol grip buttstock with grooved black enamel finished steel buttplate. Standard dovetailed and brass beaded blade front sight. Rear sight is absent. Rear of bbl. is fitted with a black enamel finished aluminum scope mount, featuring 2 1" Weaver rings and a Bushnell 4x banner scope. CONDITION: fine, with metal components retaining virtually all of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting few light superficial handling marks overall. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics. Wood furniture shows a few scattered minor superficial marks and impressions from handling and storage, but otherwise presents nicely. Scope retains a clear and sharp optic. (25-6799/MLW).
