MUSKET. Cal. 75. NSN. 40" Bbl. This musket is right out of the woods in beautiful, unmolested condition. Stock has raised grain, & wrist is oval, thicker wide than tall like the earliest Kentucky rifles. Lock is Dutch w/ Culemborg, Amsterdam cartouche. Brass is 2nd model Brown Bess, & bbl. is London commercial proofed. Ramrod is original w/ large trumpet tip. CONDITION: fine overall for 18th century musket, original flint, all original except top jaw & screw which are excellent replacements. Stock still has hand tool marks w/ hand worn patina. Iron is uncleaned w/ mottled dark patina, lock markings & bbl. proofs are very good. Mechanics fine, smooth dirty bore. (01-21148/JS). ANTIQUE. $3,000-5,000.
