Cal. 44. S# 176948. Bbl. 7 1/2" round w/ German silver blade font sight & New York address. Round rebated six shot cyl. w/ naval scene roll engraving. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished brass trigger guard. Bbl., frame, grip straps & cyl. have matching numbers. Wedge is unnumbered.1 piece walnut grip. Mfg. 1868. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Colt factory casing contains powder flask, 2 cavity mold, cap tin, round balls & bullets. Also includes 1 wrapped six round package of 44-100 seamless skin cartridges by D.C. Sage, Middletown CT. CONDITION: fine. Bbl. retains 70% lightly faded blue showing small dents in wedge area. Cyl. retains small blue on rebated portion, forward portion has gray appearance w/ very good scene. Frame retains faint traces of case colors. Trigger guard shows cleaning w/ traces of silver. Grips show light wear & have poor fit around frame, backstrap & trigger guard. Sound mechanics. Bore retains strong rifling. (01-22823/JB). ANTIQUE. $4,000-6,000.
