Cal. 31. S# 47902. Bbl. 6” octagon w/ London address. Round six shot cyl. w/ stagecoach scene roll engraving. Left side of bbl. has 2 British proofs. Blue & case colored finish w/ silver finished backstrap & small brass trigger guard. Bbl., frame, grip straps & cyl. have matching numbers. Colt wedge has non matching number “8883”. 1 Piece walnut grip has coarse checkering. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: English Agent's case has multifaceted brass plate on lid. Inside of lid has large "Edward Whistler" label. Red cloth fitted interior shows some fading & wear. Case contains powder flask, 2 cavity mold, nipple wrench, cap tin, case key, round balls & bullets. CONDITION: very fine. Bbl. retains 70% lightly faded blue showing edge wear & spots of flaking having scratches w/ a series of small dents around right side of wedge. Cyl. has 80% dull blue finish showing scratches & retains mostly visible scene. Frame & loading lever show 30% dull fading case colors w/ area of spotting on right side of frame. Grip straps have over 75% silver finish having a light gray aged patina. Sound mechanics. Lightly frosted bore retains strong rifling. (01-22868/JB). ANTIQUE. $5,000-7,000.
