REVOLVER, "C. C. BROWN". This is a standard mid 1864 manufactured S&W No. 2 army revolver with "CC BROWN" stamped twice in the bottom of grips. There are many soldiers named "C. C. Brown" both North and South, so no idea of who had this pistol even if he was a soldier. Regardless, this is a fine survivor of the 1st American army revolver with self-contained cartridges. CONDITION: very good to fine overall, retaining about 30% bright blue finish, crisp markings, all matching serial and assembly marks. Rosewood grips retain much of their original factory varnish with chips at rear toes. Mechanically fine, good rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Lifelong Collection of Robert "Mike" Bricker. (01-24984/JS). ANTIQUE. $600-800.
