PERCUSSION ARMY REVOLVER. Cal. 54 bore (.46 cal.). NSN. Bbl. 6.25". 12.5" overall, 6.25" unmarked barrel. These large bore army revolvers were popular among military officers worldwide. There are several with known Confederate associations. This example is in very fine condition retaining most of its original blue finish. The revolver has engraved frame lines and no other maker’s markings observed. There are British viewing proofs on each cylinder chamber and on barrel. CONDITION: fine overall, retains virtually all its original blue on barrel & cylinder, and majority of its blue on frame. Small gap between frame and grips due to top screw not binding. Double action mechanism functions well, bright shiny bore. (01-22981/JS). ANTIQUE. $1,750-2,500.
