Cal. 56-56. S# 9409. Bbl. 30". Standard configuration w/ 30" rnd. bbl. adj. rear sight & inspector initial stamped at breech. Frame w/ 3 line marking “SPENCER REPEATING / RIFLE CO BOSTON MASS. / PAT’D MARCH 6 1860”. Mounted on walnut stock w/ 2 crisp inspectors cartouches “HHH” & “DAP”. This is an exceptionally nice example retaining much original finish showing limited use in original Civil War configuration. CONDITION: fine overall. Bbl. retains 60-80% thinning blue finish frame breech & hammer have traces of case color in protected areas w/ balance, smooth mixed silver/gray patina. Stocks are sound, well fit, bright inspector cartouches w/ scattered storage dings & dents. Several screws retain thinning blue finish. Mechanically crisp w/ bright, shiny, crisp rifled bore.
