TALL CASE CLOCK. 2nd quarter 20th century. Bigelow & Kennard Boston. The case with molded arch surmounted by three brass ball and spire finials above the arch with moon phase. The silvered dial with Roman numeral and Arabic chapter rings flanked by two subsidiary dials in the upper corners for running in silent or chiming modes, the second for Westminster - Withington chimes. The center of the dial overlaid by a central cast brass panel of embossed foliate filigree with three winding apertures beneath a secondary seconds dial. The dial mounted with a small name plate engraved "Bigelow, Kennard & Co." The 8 Day brass movement driven by three weights and pendulum. The bonnet with free standing reed column supports joined to the throat with cove molding above a long door with oval bevel glass panel, flanked by engaged red quarter columns with brass capitals and bases above the box base with figural mahogany panel and inlaid spandrels raised on a molded plinth with bracket feet. SIZE: 98" h x 15" w (throat) x 15" d. CONDITION: very good original surface with rich patina. Dial original and untouched. Movement is intact and appears operational. (05-1119/TG). $2,000-3,000.
