Cal. 36. S# 123190. Bbl. 7 1/2" octagon w/ New York address & brass cone style sight. Six shot round cyl. w/ Texas naval scene roll engraving. Blue finish w. case colored frame, loading lever & hammer. Unplated brass backstrap & large round trigger guard. Left side at rear of trigger guard bow is stamped "C". Other 4th model features include small recoil shield cut-out w/ capping channel. Bbl., frame, grip straps, cyl., loading lever & wedge have matching numbers. 1 piece walnut grip. "V" markings are found 3 times on the butt of each grip panel. Mfg. 1862. Consignor states that this was a local purchase by a Civil War Captain. CONDITION: fine, retaining over 90% lightly faded bbl. & cyl. blue. Cyl. scene retains sharp & clear. Frame, loading lever & hammer retain over 90% bright case colors w. slight fading in carry areas. Brass grip straps show a very mild tarnish. Grips have good finish showing scattered handling marks w/ small dents & butt. Sound action. Bore is bright retaining strong rifling.
