Standard configuration with desirable 6" octagonal barrel, correct for serial range "2-line New York City address with dashes", no provision for loading assembly, left side of frame has small "COLTS PATENT", silver plated square back brass trigger guard & backstrap, varnished walnut grips, 5-shot cylinder with rolled "Indian-Dragoon fight scene". CONDITION: very good-fine overall, all original & matching throughout. Metal has sharp crisp edges, crisp markings, small traces of blue on barrel, about half original varnish on grips, grip frame retains about 90% original silver plate, cylinder scene is crisp and all discernible. Mechanically fine, well-defined rifled bore. PROVENANCE: Little John's Auction 2002, Colt collection of Horst Kreiner. (01-23983/JS). $7,000-9,000.
