Cal. 45 ACP. S# 157070. Bbl. 5"; correct Colt Type 4 w/ "5" on left leg & in front of legs. Mfg. 1917 as part of Army contract; 33,814 units. All correct features including "H" provisional acceptance mark on rear of slide & on frame by disconnector (also "G" & "T"); no "H" on rear of bbl. hood. "GHS" inspector mark by mag. release. Checkered thumb safety & slide lock both correctly milled undercut. Proper brushed blued finish w/ polished grip safety & mainspring housing. Proper double diamond checkered walnut grips. MAGS: 1 very good to excellent 2 toned 7 rd. CONDITION: especially nice example w/ appearance of original finish & sharp markings. Top rounded portion of slide slightly to the left has gray spots beginning to take away finish as if by chemicals. Very slight high point wear at muzzle end of slide. Some very slight marks directly below slide stop at top of trigger guard. Extremely minimal signs of function wear w/ blued finish still on feed ramp. Finish loss on grip screws. Appears possibly carried but fired very little, if any. Very light diamond top marks at midpoint of grips w/ balance sharp. Near excellent bore. (22-4235/NW). CURIO. $2,000-3,000.
