WELL REGARDED STEVE LODDING. Cal. 52. NSN. Consignor states that this rifle was made for him by Steve Lodding & has 36" oct. bbl. fitted w/ full buckhorn rear & German silver blade front sights. No maker's name is present, but a "Z" under a sunrise stamp is on top left bbl. flat. Correctly styled flintlock has serpentine cock & waterproof pan. Double set triggers are fitted. Full length stock is of nicely fiddle figured maple & attaches to bbl. w/ three side bolts. All of the furniture is of iron, trigger guard having scrolled grip & crescent buttplate w/ 3 1/2" return. CONDITION: very fine retaining nearly all original finishes on wood & metal w/ only a few minor handling marks & some scratches from assembly. Bore appears to be fine, but it's quite dirty. Cleaning may reveal some pitting. Mechanically good, triggers a bit sticky, probably needs lubrication. (01-18755/MGM). ANTIQUE. $2,000-3,000.
