SEMI-AUTOMATIC PISTOL. Cal. 22 LR. S# 180225. Bbl. 6 5/8". Woodsman semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Colt and subsequently King upgraded, with Colt's website's S# search, indicating that this example was mfg. in 1942. Top of the bbl. is marked with Colt's mfg. and patent information, with "THE WOODSMAN" marked on the left side of the breech. Left side of slide is marked "COLT", followed by the cal. designation and Rampant Colt logo. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece aftermarket checkered wood thumbrest grips. Underside of bbl. and front of frame have been modified via the addition of a target weight. Patridge front sight, with adj. square notch rear sight. MAGS: one 10-rd. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory finishes, exhibiting light edge wear, a few small spots of light wear, some superficial handling marks, as well as a few small spots of freckling overall. Mirror bore, exhibiting well-defined rifling throughout. Grips show a few light superficial marks from handling and storage, as well as some light smoothing to the checkering, but otherwise remain very good overall. A fine example of a desirable King-modified Colt Woodsman pistol. (24-5933/MLW). CURIO. $2,500-3,250.
