FULL SIDELOCK ACTION SHOTGUN. Cal. 12 Ga., 2 5/8". S# 5381. Bbl. 27 1/2". Mfg. Victor Sarasqueta. Made w/ 27 1/2" chopperlump fluid steel bbls. finely filled top rib which has brass front bead & engraved w/ sm. floral scroll framing "Victor Sarasqueta / Eibar". Breech end w/ sm. ring of engraving. Bottom rib w/ sling swivel. Forend lug w/ tube numbers stamped, bbl. flats w/ proper proof marks. 4 Point pattern checkered splinter forearm w/ engraved Anson type push button release & lightly scroll engraved iron. Case hardened finish on interior w/ engraved screws. The full sidelock action w/ 7 pins is a Beesly copy & is engraved in fine English type rose & scroll. High fences are lightly beaded & rose & scroll engraved as is top of frame & blued top lever. Top tang w/ some scroll & marked "SEGURO" in front of safety slide. Gun made w/ double triggers, automatic ejectors, & auto safety. Water table w/ SN, proof marks & import mark which is very light. Finely checkered in point pattern through the wrist w/ teardrops behind locks. Rnd. knob pistol grip buttstock has sling swivel, toeline as well as nickel oval & butt terminates w/ the original lined horn buttplate w/ engraved screws. Trigger guard w/ wave pattern on bow & intriguing "Carlos Webraod" signature inlaid in gold. Measurements: Right: .727", choke: .034"(imp. mod.). Left: .727", choke: .045"(ex. full). Minimum wall thickness: Right: .031", left: .033". DAC: 1 5/16". DAH: 2 7/8". LOP: 13 3/4". Weight: 6 lbs., 5 oz. CONDITION: good. Bbls. retain more then 90% of a competent restored blue, top lever has also been reblued engraving beginning to thin. Bores w/ scattered light pitting & orange peel. Action has toned a pleasing gray. Engraving is just a touch light from handling. Stocks are sound w/ scattered impressions & light hunting scratches & retain about 80% of their hand rubbed finish & w/ some finish added for preservation, checkering lightly filled in w/ grime. Bbls. on face, mechanics are fine. The gun overall would benefit from gentle cleaning. It would be interesting to know who this special order gun was built for & that could possibly be researched.
