PERCUSSION RIFLE. Cal. 52. NSN. Bbl. 32 5/8". This was the last Hall pattern rifle made, giving way to the model 1841 Mississippi rifles. Many of these rifles ended up in Confederate arsenals. Halls incorporates a unique front & rear sight offset to the left w/ hammer on right side of tilt up breech. Breech is operated by a fishtail shaped lever. Only markings are “H. FERRY / US / 1841” on top of breech. Inspectors initials are found on hammer. CONDITION: gun appears all original & matching w/ exception of Enfield style ramrod. Metal is bright w/ sm. areas of pitting. Stock & buttplate retain a virtually all of an applied varnish surface. 3/4" putty repair on left side of stock. Mechanically fine w/ pitted, rifled bore. (01-19372/JS). ANTIQUE. $2,000-2,500.
