This attractive nautilus shaped horn is covered in intricately fitted bone panels w/ numerous brass pins attaching each of the panels. There are 2 suspension loops on the inside of the curve and the tip has a turned finial as a cover. The butt end is covered w/ a large silver or silver plate cap w/ a central bone dispensing tip. The overall size is approx. 7 1/2" x 5”. CONDITION: the horn does show expected wear w/ a few very minor chips & losses to the bone plates. The early bone has a wonderful yellowed patina. These early Mughal horns are quite difficult to find in any form or material. (02-21140/BF). $500-800.
