REVOLVER, LT. CARLOS B. WILSON, 53RD MASS INFANTRY. Cal. 32, S# 8838. Standard configuration of Smith & Wesson No. 2 Army revolver manufactured in 1862, 6" barrel, finely inscribed on back strap: "Lieut. C.B. Wilson, 53d Mass Vols". 22 year old Carlos B. Wilson from Fitchburg MA, enlisted August 29, 1862 about the date of manufacture of this revolver. He served one year mustering out September 1863. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: file of research, and service record. CONDITION: revolver is fine overall retaining about half of its original bright blue finish, matching serial numbers and assembly marks, crisp markings, mechanically fine, good rifled bore.
