PISTOL CONVERTED TO RIMFIRE. Cal 32. S# 1284. Originally manufactured between 1858-1860 by the New Haven Arms Company for the self-contained "rocket ball" cartridges, upgraded around time of Civil War with Henry style rimfire firing pin. Standard configuration otherwise with 3.5" octagonal barrel, integral magazine, "NEW HAVEN CONN PATENT FEB 14 1854" stamped on top flat in one line, fixed notch rear sight, pinched post front sight, silver plated brass frame, varnished rosewood grips. CONDITION: fine overall, barrel and magazine retain most of their original blue finish, frame retains most of its bright silver plate, well-fit grips retain virtually all their original varnished finish. Mechanics need attention, hammer will not hold on full cock, magazine missing its spring. Sharp frosted rifled bore. (01-26627/JS). ANTIQUE. $5,000-7,000.
