SIDELOCK EJECTOR HEAVY GAME GUNS COMPLETELY REFURBISHED MOST LIKELY BY FACTORY. Cal. 12 Ga. 2-3/4". (both). S# 40770/1 & 40770/2 (1930). Lebeau Courally has a well deserved reputation for making some to the worlds finest guns. This nicely refurbished pair have 27-1/2" Whalreyne steel chopper lump barrels fitted with narrow matted game ribs. Tops of left barrels are newly engraved "AUG. LEBEAU-COURALLY" "Ft. A LIEGE". Barrel flats are stamped with 1930 Belgian nitro proofs for 2-3/4" chambers as well as maker's name and address. Bottoms of barrels are stamped with steel & choke information. Coin finished reinforced sidelock actions are stocked to the fences and feature automatic safetys, bushed strikers with gas vents, Purdey type hidden third fasteners, gold plated internal parts, engraved arrowhead cocking indicators and double triggers. Actions bear the same S# followed by the numbers 1 or 2 as they were built as a true pair. Actions and lockplates are engraved in Renaissance style with scrolling ribbons and large flower blossoms surrounded by a sea of small scroll. Bottoms of actions are engraved with game scenes of ducks rising from a marsh. Scrolled ribbons on left lock are engraved with maker's name and address. The ribbons on right are engraved "Fait Pour J. Nain A Lyon". Fences are low relief engraved with floral designs. Top levers are gold inlaid with the numbers "1" or "2". Trigger guards engraved with floral bursts on bows have S#'s on long tangs. Newly made straight grip buttstocks of well matched stump figured European walnut measure 14-1/2" over fully checkered wood butts. Stocks feature fluted drop points, well cut point pattern grip checkering and vacant gold ovals on toelines. Matching splinter Lebeau Courally ejector forends have Anson releases and also appear to have new wood. MEASUREMENTS: BBLS: (1) Bore Diameter: L .738. R .738. Restriction: L .040 (extra full). UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: guns are housed in a relatively new high quality dark brown leather two gun motor case with stitched leather corners. Interior is lined in green cloth and there are two leather maker's labels in lid. No accessories are present. CONDITION: both guns very fine as re-conditioned; most likely by factory. Barrels retaining nearly all fine quality re-black. Actions are cleaned to coin finish and engraving remains sharp and clear. Superb quality newly made stocks retain essentially all of their oil finish with a few scattered marks and light dings, most notably on right of grip of gun #2. Bores are bright and shiny without any noted problems. Actions are tight. Ejectors strong and in time. Case is very fine; close to new with some minor marks and rubs inside and out.
