Cal. 50. NSN. "THOMAS TYRER, RICHMOND, VA" on 10" octagonal barrels, "THOs TYRER" on engraved percussion locks with sliding safeties, steel mounted, pewter nose caps. Tyrer had gun & gentleman's shop in Richmond 1840s till mid 1850s when it was sold to James Walsh who continued business through Civil War, manufacturing and importing fine arms. CONDITION: good overall, one gun saw more use than the other, barrel marker only partially legible, but other gun has crisp address. Sliding safety broken on one gun, ramrod original on one with brass capped worm, other is replaced. Mechanics are fine, clear smooth bores.
