Cal 577. NSN. Standard configuration, 33" Birmingham proofed barrel, long range ladder sight, brass furniture, 2 steel barrel bands, front band made with integral bayonet lug numbered "125". Stock has Birmingham Small Arms black powder proof stamped rear of trigger guard and contractor "SWINBURN" further on belly. Tower lock is dated 1861 with crown and no cipher which shows this gun was for export. No Confederate markings, this is a pattern that is very rare to find in this superior condition with Confederate association. CONDITION: fine overall, barrel retains much of its original military blue finish, dark plum overall, stock has crisp markings with scattered dings and dents.
