BY LORENZO GAMBA WITH CASE. Cal. 20 Ga. 2-3/4". S# 118931 (2000). The 28-1/2" monobloc barrels are fitted with narrow matted ventilated rib, solid side ribs and choke tubes. Maker's name and address are on left ejector housing and importer, "Perazzi USA" are on right. Bottom of monobloc is stamped with the year 2000 Italian nitro proofs and grade. Coin finished, low profile, small O/U Perazzi action is fitted with ornamental side plates and gold plated single selective trigger in blued firing group housing. Action is engraved with near full coverage small scroll with floral highlights which offsets bullino game and dog scenes that continue onto sideplates. A pair of golden retrievers watch a mallard take wing in marsh setting on left side, while a group of pintail ducks settle into a cattail marsh on right. Bottom of action portrays a pair of mallards flying over a marsh. Engraver's signature "GAMBA" is on trigger plate (Lorenzo Gamba born in 1954 engraves guns for numerous Italian, English, German and American gunmakers). Exhibition quality extravagantly marbled European walnut extreme pistol grip buttstock measures 14-1/2" over checkered wood butt. Point pattern checkering is at grip. Matching slim one piece field forend has Deeley type release. MEASUREMENTS: STOCK: DAH: 1-7/8". DAC: 1-3/8". CAST: neutral. LOP: 14-1/2". WEIGHT: 7 lb. 2 oz. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: gun is housed in its original dark brown leather covered Perazzi marked case. Interior is lined in Perazzi marked cloth and contains: paperwork in thin red wallet, stock removal tool, bags for barrels and action and black plastic container holding 4 choke tubes and wrench (2 tubes in gun for a total of 6). CONDITION: exceptionally fine. Appears essentially "as new" with almost no evidence of having been fired since proof. There are only a scattering of miniscule handling and assembly marks on all surfaces. Case is also very fine. This gun currently retails for well over $45,000. (23-4761/MGM). MODERN. $30,000-45,000.
