ACTION PERCUSSION REVOLVER. Cal. 36. S# 13572. Bbl. 7 1/2". Second Generation Model 1851 Navy single action percussion revolver by Colt. Top flat of the octagonal bbl. is marked with Colt's single line address, with "COLTS/ PATENT" marked on the left side of the frame. Cyl. is roll engraved with Colt's naval engagement scene. Case colored frame, hammer, and lever, with blued cyl. and bbl. Silver plated brass trigger guard and rear grip strap with 1-piece plain wood grip. Brass cone style front sight and hammer notched rear sight. All serialized parts are matching, to include the frame, trigger guard, rear grip strap, cyl. base pin, cyl., bbl., bbl. wedge, as well as the loading lever. CONDITION: excellent, with metal components retaining bountiful amounts of their original factory finishes, exhibiting a few light superficial handling marks, as well as a few spots of light edge wear. Silver plating shows proper age related tarnishing. Brilliant mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Grip shows a few light superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sound and presents nicely. (01-29709/MLW). ANTIQUE. $250-350.
