Cal. 11mm Mauser. S# 9753. Bbl. 31 1/2". Blade front sight. Ladder rear sight graduated to 1600m. Very fine Spandau-made example with all visible matching numbers. Receiver, bolt, and buttplate are in-the-white. Right side of the receiver has a 1888 date; no unit markings are present on the buttplate. The balance of other parts has a blued finish. Bbl. has Spandau markings and various Imperial acceptance stamps. Walnut stock set with crisp Imperial stamps and bottom-mounted sling swivels. CONDITION: stock shows scattered storage dings and handling marks. Receiver and bolt remain mostly bright, with some dried grease and minor oxidation specks. Balance of metal retains 95% of its original blue, with some light oxidation and scattered light edge & handling wear. Mag. cutoff is not engaging, possibly from storage grease buildup, but action otherwise functions properly. Bright, near excellent bore. PROVENANCE: from the lifelong collection of Bill Peterken. (01-26011/MJC). ANTIQUE. $500-800.
