RIFLE. Cal. 45-70. S# 459653. Bbl. 32 5/8". Blade front sight. Buffington rear sight. Fine example of an 1884 Trapdoor retaining a high degree of case colors & bluing. Low arch breechblock has "US MODEL 1884" markings. Lock has eagle & "US SPRINGFIELD" markings. Walnut stock w/ bottom mounted sling swivels. Ramrod present. Left side of stock has crisp 1889 "SWP" inspectors cartouche. Bottom of wrist has crisp circled "P" firing proof. CONDITION: stock shows scattered dings & handling wear. Upper tang & breechblock retain 70% case colors w/ some fading & light oxidation. Balance of metal retains 85% arsenal blue w/ scattered light oxidation & some fading to brown. Very good bore.
