Cal. 45 ACP. S# 105430 (April 1915). Per "U.S. Military Automatic Pistols 1894–1920" by Edward Scott Meadows, mfg. 1915 within the serial number range 102597–107596. Correct features include: SA 5" Type 11 barrel without "S" proof on the right side of the barrel lug; Type 1 double diamond checkered walnut grips; Type C long hammer; Type B safety lock tab; Type A slide lock; short tang grip safety; Type 1 mainspring housing; Type 2 mainspring housing pin; long 1911 trigger; Type C mag. release lock; Type 3 recoil spring plug; Type B recoil spring guide; Type A front sight; and Type B rear sight. Soft blued pistol with a sharp Springfield Armory Ordnance Bomb on the left side. MAGS: 1 Springfield Armory 7 rd., two-tone, with brass section near top of spine and lanyard loop on baseplate. Mag. has a fair finish with patina. CONDITION: fine. The exterior blue finish is very good overall, showing edge wear, scattered peppery oxidation, and wear commensurate with cycling, assembly, and handling. Top of the slide near the rear sight has an area of small marks. Front grip strap and mainspring housing show finish loss from handling, mixed with patina and pinprick oxidation. Barrel has very good original blue showing wear from cycling; bore is very good and shiny, having strong rifling, along with light frosting in the grooves. PROVENANCE: the collection of Curtis H.
