Cal. 7.62x54R. S# 231590. Bbl. 27". Import marked on bottom of bbl. Barrel marked over chamber with SAKO "gearwheel" and dated 1943. Marked on the side with boxed "SA" Finnish property mark. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 meters. Blade front sight ,adjustable for windage, has protective ears. Hex receiver has added Finnish S# and shows removal of Imperial eagle on top flat. Straight bolt handle. Cleaning rod is present. Hinged upper band w/ bayonet lug. Unmarked birch stock set made with square end finger joints. Provision for side and bottom sling mounting. Unmarked green leather sling. CONDITION: rifle if not unissued has seen very little use as wood & metal both retain nearly all original finish w/ only very light wear & scattered small handling marks. Shiny bore w/ lightly worn lands & hint of frosting in throat area. PROVENANCE: from the collection of Mark Ivey Godfrey. (24-5226/RW). CURIO. $300-400.
