Cal. 7.62X54R. S# 252727. Bbl. 27". Import marked on right side of barrel. 1944 dated barrel is marked over chamber with boxed "SA" Finnish property mark. SAKO gear wheel and date. Serial numbers match on barrel and bolt knob. Tangent rear sight graduated to 1000 meters. Adjustable blade front sight with protective ears. Hex receiver has Imperial Eagle removed from top flat. Straight bolt handle. Hardwood pistol grip buttstock made with rounded wartime stock splices. Faint illegible "crossed cannons and circle" mark on right side of butt. Handguard appears to be replacement. Clamping front band with bayonet lug. Cleaning rod is not present. Provision for side and bottom sling attachment. CONDITION: heavily worn stock set retains little finish with numerous handling marks including punch marks notable on the right side. Crack behind receiver on left side. Metal has traces of worn blue turning grey with scattered handling marks. Fair worn bore with frosted grooves. PROVENANCE: from The Estate Collection of Charles Wagner. (24-4609/RW). CURIO. $300-400.
