Cal. 35. S# 1762. 20" Bbl. w/ U notch rear sight & brass blade front has octagonal breech section. Bbl. is opened & cammed by operating lever w/ thin scrolled end held in place by a catch on trigger plate tang. Gun is fired by boxlock type action & has Maynard tape primer mechanism w/ cover on right. Left side marked w/ Mass Arms Co. info, right w/ Maynard's patent info. Top tang of action is fitted w/ long range folding sight. There is no sling loop on trigger plate, tang area plugged w/ old screw. Walnut stock has heavy cast iron buttplate w/ magazine for additional tape primers w/ patent markings on cover. No inspectors marks are found in wood or metal. CONDITION: good. Bbl. w/ old brown refinish has scattered light pitting. Action is gray to brown w/ considerable light pitting. Stock retains old oil finish w/ some marks. Rusted bore, rifling evident. Mechanically good. Tape primer mechanism does not work. (01-20351/MGM). ANTIQUE. $1,500-2,250.
