SEMI-AUTOMATIC RIFLE. Cal. 22 Short. S# 112307. Bbl. 24". Model 74 semi-automatic rifle mfg. by Winchester during the first year of Model 74 production (1939). Left side of the bbl. exhibits standard factory markings denoting Winchester's mfg. information, as well as the model and cal. designations. Metal components exhibit a blue finish overall. Plain wood pistol grip buttstock, with inverse checkered steel buttplate. Dovetailed blade front sight, with dovetailed U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: receiver retains fair amounts of its original finish, with the balance showing wear through to gray patina and mild pitting overall. Bbl. is very good, showing some areas of wear and thinning, with scattered spots of light surface oxidation. Mirror bore, retaining well defined rifling throughout. Stock shows some superficial marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remains sturdy and serviceable. (25-2056/MLW). CURIO. $250-400.
