Cal. 44 smooth bore. NSN. Full oct. 39" initialed bbl. attributed to Jacob Frock, gunsmith of Danville, Montour & Northumberland counties. "LONDON WARRANTED" marked flint lock. Rifle has dbl. set triggers & a 4 piece engraved brass patchbox w/ 7 piercings. Curly maple stock has a 6" brass saddle plate & is incise carved on the cheek side of the butt. CONDITION: appears to be completely solid & original throughout w/ the possibility of having been shortened about 1" from the front in period. PROVENANCE: Collection of Dr. John Persing.
