Cal. 7.65x53 Argentine. S #004607. Bbl. 22 3/8". Safety is a mismatched incorrect replacement, all other visible numbers are matching w. bolt & stock being crudely renumbered. Top of receiver marked w/ Argentine crest. Left side of receiver marked "EJERCITO ARGENTINO MAUSER MOD. 1909. Left side rail marked "D.G.F.M.". Tangent rear sight graduated to 1400 meters. Inverted V front sight w/ protective ears. Nose cap w/ bayonet lug. Left side sling mounted swivels. Hinged floorplate. Straight grip walnut stock set w/ very faint argentine cartouche on right side of butt. UNATTACHED ACCESORIES: Argentine 1909 bayonet, frog & scabbard. Blade is maker marked by Weyersberg Kirschbaum & Co & serialized "P0275". Metal parts of bayonet remain mostly bright w/ some light scratches & minor oxidation. Walnut grip panels show a couple dings & some handling marks. Green leather frog shows light flaking & crazing. Blued steel scabbard is matching numbered to bayonet & shows light handling wear and silvering. CONDITION: walnut stock shows a 4" crack at either side of wrist, a plugged sling swivel behind lower tang, an armorer repair at toe, scattered staining, dings, scratches & handling marks. In the white receiver & bolt remain partially bright w/ scattered oxidation staining. Blued parts turning gray w/ scattered oxidation staining. Worn bore w/ scattered pitting. (22-2543/MJC).
