REVOLVER. Cal. 41 RF. S# 1007. Bbl. 2 1/2". No. 41 double-action revolver mfg. by Forehand & Wadsworth. Left side of the bbl. is marked with patent information, with "FOREHAND & WADSWORTH/ DOUBLE ACTION NO.41/ WORCESTER, MASS." marked over the top strap. Frame is stamped "7 N" beneath the left grip panel. Metal components exhibit a nickel-plated finish overall, save for on the hammer and cyl. base pin, which are blued, and the trigger, which is strawed. Frame is mounted with 2-piece, smooth wood, bird's-head grips. Half-moon blade front sight is a replacement. All serialized parts are matching and include the frame, cyl., the cyl. base pin, as well as the bbl. Grips are stamped "7" on the interior of the panels. CONDITION: frame, cyl., and bbl. retain the majority of their original nickel-plated finish, exhibiting some small spots of flaking, as well as some small flecks of oxidation overall. Hammer and cyl. base pin show wear and thinning overall, with the hammer showing light to mild oxidation on either side. Trigger retains traces of its straw finish. Bright bore, exhibiting some scattered spots of dark pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show scattered marks from handling and storage, as well as a few chips along the edges of the panels, but otherwise remain sturdy and serviceable. (24-7246/MLW). CURIO. $200-300.
