Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 7 1/2", rifled. Small blade front sight and V-notch rear sight. Pistol appears to be a percussion-updated French 1822 pistol. Lock has St. Etienne markings. Bbl. has an 1823 date, French proofs, and a "C de 17-6A" marking. Bbl. and left stock flat, both numbered "144." Brightly finished bbl. and lock assembly. Hardwood stock with brass furniture. Replacement hardwood ramrod that is too short. CONDITION: stock has an added finish, with notable long cracks around the trigger guard, some insect damage on the left side, scattered dings, and handling marks. Brass parts are turning to a yellow patina, with scattered dings and oxidation. Balance of metal is a light gray with scattered oxidation and pitting. Action functions properly when hand-cycled. Bore shows scattered pitting and oxidation but visible rifling. (01-26074/MJC). ANTIQUE. $400-600.
