Overall length 39 3/4". Blade length 32 1/2". Blade has a single wide fuller with foliate & military etching over the first 7 1/2". The tip of the blade has a 2” false edge. Gilded brass hilt features a plain cross guard with a lion head quillon. Exaggerated elongated elliptical languets are decorated with what appears to be a Roman soldier. Outside of the knuckle bow shows a spray of arms and the pommel is a turned over lion’s head. 1-Piece carved wooden grip with cross hatching on both faces. Extremely ornate gilded brass scabbard with 3 panels on the front featuring repousse goddesses and a large spray of arms with armor. CONDITION: blade has a medium mottled gray patina. Hilt shows areas of original gilded finish. Grip is 98% complete. Scabbard is in remarkably solid condition showing only scattered tiny dents with a significant amount of gilded finish remaining.
