Cal. 69. NSN. Bbl. 9". Top of upper tang marked "Mle 1763". Lock has Charleville markings. Other markings are obscured due to pitting. Frizzen spring is lighter in color than rest of lock & maybe a replacement. These pistols were used by the French during the American Revolution & they were also provided as aid to the American rebels. Walnut stock. Button tipped ramrod present. CONDITION: stock has a repaired 2" chip to left of upper tang, a few old cracks, chips & scattered handling wear from the years. Metal is a gray patina w/ pitting throughout. Oxidized bore. (01-23482/MJC). ANTIQUE. $800-1500.
