A good French M1845 foot officer's sword measuring 40" overall with a plain blade etched on the spine "Bisch a Boersch & Klingenthal". Gilded brass hilt with a pierced foliate decorated guard and acanthus leaf pommel. Wire wrapped horn grip and an iron scabbard. CONDITION: blade has a mottled gray patina and shows light sharpening. Hilt shows expected wear with areas of gilding remaining. Scabbard has a few shallow dents and a central repair. PROVENANCE: From the PMRB Collection. (02-25856/BF). NON-GUN. $300-500.
