ACTION REVOLVER. Cal. 8x27mmR. S# F76628. Bbl. 4 5/8". Mle 1892 double action revolver mfg. by St. Etienne in 1895. Right side of the frame is marked "Mre d' Armes/ St. Etienne". Top flat of the bbl. is marked "Mle 1892", with "S 1895" marked on the right, and encircled "M" and "B" inspector proofs on the left. Metal components exhibit what appears to be an arsenal reapplied blue finish overall. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips and features a lanyard swivel and ring on the butt. Pinned blade front sight with integral U-notch rear sight. CONDITION: metal components retain the majority of their arsenal reapplied blue finish, showing some spots of light to mild wear fading to gray patina (primarily on edges), with light surface oxidation and pitting present overall. Relatively bright bore, exhibiting scattered patches of dark mild pitting, while retaining well defined rifling throughout. Proper manual mechanics in SA and DA. Grips show some smoothing to the diamonds and some scattered marks from handling and storage, but otherwise remain sound. (01-27388/MLW). ANTIQUE. $300-500.
