ARIZAGA. Cal. 7.65mm. S# 8063. Bbl. 3 3/8". Ruby semi-automatic pistol mfg. by Gaspar Arizaga in Eiber, Spain, under contract for the French military during WWI. The left side of the slide is marked "GASPAR ARIZAGA EIBER CAL 765," above the S#. Left side of the frame is marked with an encircled "A" maker's mark, with two stars stamped on the butt, denoting French military use. Mag. floorplate is stamped with an encircled "R.H.". Frame and slide exhibit a blue finish, with the trigger, slide catch lever, and mag. heel release exhibiting a straw finish. Bbl. is polished in-the-white. Frame is mounted with 2-piece checkered wood grips. Half-moon blade front sight with V-notch rear sight. Frame and slide exhibit matching S#s, with the frame, slide, and bbl. exhibiting a matching "936" assembly #. MAGS: three 9-rd. CONDITION: very good, with metal components retaining the majority of their original factory blue finish, exhibiting some areas of wear and thinning that show through to gray patina, as well as some scattered spots of light to mild surface oxidation and pitting. Strawed parts retain fair to good amounts of their finish, exhibiting wear and scattered spots of age-related discoloration. Very bright bore, exhibiting some light pitting, while retaining strong rifling throughout. Grips show mild smoothing and a few marks and impressions from handling and storage but are otherwise very good overall. (24-6822/MLW). CURIO. $300-500.
