BARREL MARKED “SEF”. Cal. 32. NSN. Bbl. 36". Slightly swamped oct. bbl. fitted w/ buckhorn rear & German silver blade front sights. Top flat behind rear sight is engraved “S.E.F.” in script. Back spring percussion lock is by Golcher & has stamped engraving. Full length stock of curly maple extends to muzzle w/ 2" brass cap & attaches to bbl. w/ 3 bronze side bolts. Stock is brass mounted w/ some German silver decoration. Crescent buttplate has 4 1/2" return. Trigger guard has finger spurs on bow & at rear of grip. German silver oval is on sm. cheekpiece & a rectangular palm plate is also of German silver. Newer hardwood ramrod is held by 2 beaded brass pipes & matching thimble. CONDITION: bbl. & lock cleaned to silver gray. Bbls. have considerable brown patina. Stock retains most of an old oil refinish w/ sanding marks. Furniture is toned. Bore is very good. A new drum & nickel are installed. Lock & set triggers are operable. PROVENANCE: The Estate Collection of Gary Parietti. (01-19012/MGM). ANTIQUE. $600-1,000.
