THOMPSON SUBMACHINE GUN. CURIO. Cal. 45 ACP. S# AO134006X. Bbl. 11". Classic Thompson SMG, US Model 1928 AC overstamp, manufactured by Auto-Ordnance Corporation, in Bridgeport, CT. 24 rib finned bbl. Terminated w/ unmarked Cutts compensator. Horizontal wood fore arm. Front blade sight integral w/ compensator & rear is adj. Lyman graduated sight. Hardwood, rear shoulder stock w/ trapdoor buttplate. Sling swivel at 6-O'clock below shoulder stock. Slotted top mounted cocking knob. Parkerized finish on exposed metal surfaces. Left side receiver markings are as follows: "U.S. Model of 1928 A1", w/ the "1" over-stamped "C". The "U.S." marking, before the model designation has been ground off as is typical. "Thompson Submachine Gun / Calibre 45 Automatic Cartridge". Serial number line, below the model line includes the correct "AO" prefix w/ correct "X N.A.C." suffix Right side markings include patent block on rear of receiver & "Auto-Ordnance Corporation", "Bridgeport Connecticut, U.S.A.". Trigger frame serial number matches receiver number. MAGS: 9 parkerized 30 rd., 2 blued 50 rd. Type L drums. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: Owners manual. CONDITION: Parkerized finish on receiver is complete & consistent w/ several light drag lines, typical of a range used firearm. Some light patina / staining, visible under close inspection. Blued finish on barrel illustrates some gentle patina & thinning, while compensator finish has more substantial thinning & patina. Some markings are easy to read w/ the addition of a white infill while others appear to have fallen prey to a more aggressive refinishing at some point. Wood furniture is dark and matches well, having a few period typical scratches & depressions. Bright bore w/ descent rifling. Fire control mechanism appears to function correctly when cycled by hand.
