Cal. 7.92 (8mm Mauser). S# 3878h. Bbl. 24 3/4". NFA registry lists mfr. as German. Flip up blade rear sight. Tangent rear sight graduated to 2000m. Feed tray, bolt parts, bbl. & buttstock are mismatched but balance of other parts are matching. Early Gustloff made MG34 coded "dfb 41" for 1941 production. Some markings have added white highlight paint making them stand out. The MG-34 was the workhorse of the Wehrmacht seeing service throughout the Second World War & this early example with its many matching parts is worthy of any military or machine gun collection. Matte blue finish. Bakelite buttstock & grip panels. Folding bipod coded "dfb". MAGS: 1-75 rd. MG-15 drum & 1-75 rd. MG-34 drum. UNATTACHED ACCESSORIES: spare dot coded bolt assembly, Lafette mount, top cover, spare 1939 dated bbl with carrier, CMG coded MGZ scope with metal case, Gunner's tool pouch with AA sight, wrench, several tools, stripped bolt assembly & several unmarked metal links. Spare bbl. has good rifling with scattered frosting. CONDITION: furniture shows scattered scuffs, dings & handling marks. Top cover exhibits notable side to side play. Metal retains 60% arsenal blue with overall fading to gray, light oxidation, some light pitting, handling marks, edge wear & a couple dings on top cover. Action functions properly when hand cycled.
