Cal. approx. 56. NSN. Bbl. 22 1/2" of double taper octagon. Top flat is marked "GEORGE TIRLINGER PRAG (Prague)". Brass bead front sight with ornate rear sight having one standing and one folding leaf. Lock is engraved with makers name. Double set triggers. Pin fastened full length walnut stock with cheekpiece and wide butt. Brass fittings include buttplate with long peak, pierced patchbox cover, pierced toe plate, long tang trigger guard plate, nosecap, sideplate, wrist plate with crown finial, thimble and single faceted pipe. Finger rest wooden trigger guard. Ramrod channel, toeline and lower edge of cheekpiece have mouldered borders. Relief floral carving is found around top tang, thimble, trigger guard and in front of cheekpiece. A circular pattern incise carving is found behind cheekpiece. Brass tipped hardwood ramrod. Forearm has strap style swivel, rear swivel button is mounted on toeline. Overall length: 36 1/2". Weight: 5 lbs., 15.4 oz. CONDITION: metal finish has faded to gray showing scattered very light pitting. Stock has age darkened worn appearance with small cracks in forearm and lock areas. Functioning lock and triggers. Bore retains deep rifling showing a small amount of very light pitting. PROVENANCE: Estate of Frank Glenn Marsh. (01-21321/DS). ANTIQUE. $2,500-3,500.
